Your first hour

Valhalla makes more sense once you see the loop: learn the board, meet wild Veras, build a team, and return with a better plan.

Begin in the tutorial

Launch the browser game and follow the tutorial before worrying about the wider systems. Its job is to teach the interaction language you will reuse in encounters and battles.

Key points

  • Read every ability's range and target pattern before committing it.
  • Treat movement as an action with a purpose: create an angle, escape a threat, or protect a teammate.
  • Use the battle preview and event feedback to connect your choice to its resolved result.

Let the interface teach the controls

Follow the current on-screen prompt rather than memorizing an undocumented key list. The tutorial, action highlights, ability ranges, target shapes, and battle feedback show what can be selected and what the committed action will do.

Key points

  • Pause on an ability before choosing it and read its range, charge cost, and target pattern.
  • Use highlighted legal tiles to separate a valid input from a useful tactical choice.
  • If an input changes between the world and battle, trust the prompt shown by the active mode.

Build a readable first team

A standard side can field up to three Veras. Start with playstyles you can explain in one sentence, then add complexity when positioning and turn timing feel natural.

Key points

  • Pick an Easy Vera from the Vera directory if you want a forgiving first read.
  • Give each team member a clear job: pressure, control, protection, or repositioning.
  • Learn one trio well before changing every slot at once.

Keep a short return routine

On later visits, check quests, review any patch changes, then decide whether the session is for progression, taming, crafting, PvE, or PvP. A clear goal keeps the larger world from becoming noise.
