Hello Vikings!
The tides of battle shift once more across Floki Island! This update brings sweeping refinements to combat flow, deep Vera balance adjustments, and, you guessed it, another Bank Vault overhaul that reshapes how Runix and Onyx interact. Ranked PvP now follows a global schedule for sharper matchmaking, and Daily Quests have been unified across accounts for a smoother daily grind.
In addition to the rewards recently distributed to our early bird Vikings who helped shape Valhalla’s first days, this patch also unveils the seasonal rewards awaiting Jarls, Huscarls, and loyal Members. The full breakdown is detailed below.
Whether you’re perfecting your combat tactics, challenging the best in the arena, securing your wealth in the Bank, or conquering new daily quests, this update lays the groundwork for a fairer, faster, and more connected Valhalla.
Take a look! ⚔️
Combat Flow Adjustments
After closely studying the results of recent Tournament battles, analyzing in-game data, and reviewing extensive community feedback, several Veras have undergone adjustments to ensure a more balanced, engaging, and fair combat experience across Valhalla.
Besides the Vera-specific changes mentioned below, here are some of the more general updates that concern the flow and balance of the combat experience:
-
Friendly Fire – Damage dealt to your own Veras has been increased from 20% → 50% of the damage you would deal to an opponent Vera.
-
Action Sequence Update – The overall sequence of actions has been restructured. Both the order of phases and which actions occur in each phase have changed. Most importantly, Movement actions now take priority and occur before all other actions (except Taming during Vera encounters). For example, Terrain Shift and Geyser Toss now both occur after all Movement actions are completed. See the table below for full details on the Action Sequence and its phases.
-
Action Phases – In phases where action execution order applies, the order is now determined based on Vera HP instead of stats. The Vera with the highest current HP (at the start of the turn) acts first, followed by the next in descending order.
Example: If a Grabbur uses Geyser Toss and a Bjorn uses Knockup, and Bjorn has higher HP at the start of the turn, Knockup will resolve first.
Note: These changes aim to make the action order clearer and easier to communicate in-game in future updates. Stay tuned for improvements to complement this system.
Complete Action Sequence
Below is the full Action Phase order, along with examples of actions and abilities within each phase:
| Action Phase | Action Examples |
|---|---|
| Taming (only in PvE) | Using an Amulet |
| Movement | Base Movement Action, Flindorr’s Snap, Trojun’s Shard Step |
| Attunement | Bigghaer’s Spirit Shroud, Hushroom’s Homedig, Madhattr’s Redirect |
| Displacement | Skaerrot’s Terrain Shift, Bjorn’s Knockup, Grabbur’s Geyser Toss |
| Rally | Using a Potion, Grabbur’s Steam Cleanse, Floki’s WAGMI Howl |
| Summons | Madhattr’s Arcane Bomb movement, Bigghaer’s Hammer of Returning coming back, Skaerrot’s Homing Carrot movement |
| Core Actions | Hushroom’s Spore Bomb, Igby’s Flame Frenzy, Klautjasar’s Stormy Puff |
| Map Shrink | On certain turns, the outer ring of the map collapses, and Veras standing on it are repositioned |
| Recharge | Veras regain charge |
| Status Tick | Status effects trigger and take effect |
Vera Balance Changes
For Vera specific changes, these aim to strengthen each Vera’s unique identity while keeping every fight strategic and rewarding.
New Status Effects
- Drained – Reduce the affected Vera's charge regeneration by 50% for the duration.
- Weakened – Lower the affected Vera’s Strength, Intellect, and Charisma by 25% for the duration.
Rune Abilities
Sunbeam
- Ability power reduced from 25 → 20.
- Now applies Drained to any Vera hit for 3 turns.
Hailstorm
- Now applies Drained to any Vera hit for 4 turns.
Earthquake
- Ability power reduced from 25 → 20.
- Now applies Drained to any Vera hit for 2 turns.
Bjorn
Roar
- Range increased from 2 → 3 tiles.
- Ability power adjusted from 50 → 35.
- Charge cost raised from 20 → 25.
- Now applies Weakened to any enemy Vera hit for 2 turns.
Hushroom
Fairy Ring
- Selection reworked. Instead of choosing 3 tiles within a 3-tile radius, it now automatically affects all tiles directly surrounding Hushroom, applying Drowsy to Veras on those tiles. On the following turn, the second ring around Hushroom is affected, similar to Earthquake.
Skaerrot
Terrain Shift
- Range reduced from 4 → 3 tiles.
Healing Turf
- Duration of the Turfs summoned reduced from 4 → 3 turns.
Bigghaer
Spirit Shroud
- Now applies Drowsy on the turn after casting instead of Exhausted.
Igby
Scorching Honey
- Trap duration decreased from 4 → 3 turns.
Grabbur
Geyser Toss
- Range increased from 2 → 3 tiles.
Trojun
Shard Step
- Charge cost increased from 30 → 35.
Floki
Bite the Dip
- Range increased from 1 → 2 tiles in a direction.
- After striking, Floki now leaps back opposite the attack direction in the same range chosen for the strike.
WAGMI Howl
- Now affects Floki and 1 chosen ally, if applicable.
Bank Exchange
Following through on previous adjustments, the ever-calculating Banker has taken the focus on Onyx up a notch. From now on, when you lock Runix in a Vault, it will be fully converted into Onyx.
The conversion follows a fixed exchange rate and includes a limit on how much Runix can be locked in the Vault. Both values depend on the Vault’s Grade, which you can now choose for yourself:
-
Prestige Vault – Exchange rate 100 Runix : 1 Onyx.
The Runix lock cap scales with your Floki Tier or Elo rating.
-
Base Vault – Exchange rate 120 Runix : 1 Onyx.
The lock cap is 20,000 Runix.
-
Mass Vault – Exchange rate 140 Runix : 1 Onyx.
The lock cap is a massive 500,000 Runix.
And because fortune favors the bold, the Banker is feeling unusually generous. Each time you unlock a Vault, he’ll slip you a random Vera Chest as a token of appreciation.
Note: Any Runix locked prior to this update will still follow the old Vault rules upon unlocking.
Ranked PvP Schedule
To forge fiercer competition and fairer matches, Ranked PvP will now be available only during specific times of the day. By concentrating matchmaking into shorter windows, battles will fill faster, wait times will shrink, and it will become much harder for players to trade wins or automate matches.

Note: Quests can only progress if your account is linked.
Several quests that proved too demanding, such as many of the Vera Wrangler objectives, have been adjusted or retired to keep things fun and achievable. In their place, a selection of new daily quests has been added, offering greater variety and fresh challenges for every Viking.

- Rewards are non-stacking. The highest ladder rank achieved determines your payout.
Clan Wisp Level Rewards
For every upgraded level of Clan Wisp, every member in the clan receives 3 Floki Essence.
(Example: A Clan Wisp at level 6 grants 18 Floki Essence to all members, on top of other rewards.)
Other Updates and Fixes
- Clan Invitations – Ynghildr, the Clan Master herself, has received a refined interface! Accepting or declining clan invites now happens directly through Ynghildr. You will still receive in-game mail notifications when you get new invites or when invited Vikings accept or decline yours.
- Ability Descriptions – Updated several ability descriptions to reflect recent balance changes, correcting inconsistencies in status effect durations and spawned ability objects.
- Rumnesia – Clarified the message shown when attempting to use a Rumnesia potion on a Vera that has no unallocated stat points.
- Potion Throwing – Tossing potions onto the battlefield is now visualized, adding a touch of flair to every throw.
- Vera Stabilization Update – Only Level 3 Veras can now be used to stabilize the condition of a fatigued Vera, ensuring the process remains balanced.
- Vera Chests – Vera Chests now grant only materials and Vera Essence, both determined by the rune type and the species of the Vera.
- Gauntlet Attempts – Gauntlet attempts and Surges will not be restocked again for the time being. The Gauntlet battles are taking a short break but will return next patch, better than ever.
- Status Effect Visuals – All negative status effects now appear in red, clearly highlighting their harmful impact on affected Veras.
- Daily Quest Notice – Added a reminder to the Quest menu in Combat that Daily Quest progress is only updated after the battle concludes.
- Easter Event Emote – The long-awaited Easter Emote, a symbol of the bravery shown by Vikings during the Easter Event, has finally arrived in Valhalla!
