Hello Vikings! Today’s patch lays more foundations for the game to scale up and accommodate new players, and additionally, it introduces various new exciting gameplay features. Server selection is now in place to guarantee space for more Vikings. On top of that, The Tracker and the Immortal Gauntlet features have been added to the game, and they’re here to stay as end-game, and clan-related, core features of Valhalla. The Tracker allows custom minting of Veras in exchange for Onyx, and the Immortal Gauntlet is a boss battle for clans that grants clan points for the best strategy, execution, and collaboration.

So get ready, prepare powerful Veras, recruit new Vikings for your Clan, and good luck!

Servers

As preparation for the game scaling up, we’ve added support for multiple servers. In tandem with that, we added a server selection screen for players that want to spend quality time with their Viking buddies and clan members surrounding them. Important to note that all Valhalla servers share the same data, so the same characters, clans, and leaderboards, are all there and the same in every server. They primarily prevent lagging in the case where hoards of new Vikings Recruits come crashing on our shores. So do not worry about server migration, or which one to choose, because if you refresh the game or go back to title screen, you can choose a different server and nothing will change except the Vikings you’ll see beside you. Last thing, PvP works cross-server, so regardless which server you choose to load into, you’ll be queuing against everyone queuing from any server.

Ranked 3v3s

About queuing, for the foreseeable future, and theoretically until main-net is released, we disabled ranked 1v1 and 2v2 mode to focus the player base on 3v3 and to reduce queue times for those players looking to climb the ladder. If you still wish to try other modes, you can still play them in unranked.

In addition, numerous abilities’ visual effects received a make-over, making them feel more impactful. And on top of that, animations that were a little slow got sped up to make the flow of battles, especially 3v3s - which contain more of them, faster and smoother.

First Time Experience

In prep of more new Vikings, playing Valhalla for the first time will now have a slightly different flow to it, allowing people to choose if they’re a new player, and if so immediately taking them to the new journey character creation and tutorial. Alternatively, for repeat players, the game will direct you towards linking your account so you can retrieve characters from your wallet and start playing with them. And, if you’re already linked, then you’re directed to the character select, as before.

The Tracker

An experienced Vera tracker has made its way to Floki Island, and his services have exciting end-game implications. It allows players to mint and encounter customized Veras in exchange for Onyx, the premium currency of the game. The tracker allows players to choose specific species, low level ranges (1-4), as well as stat rarities. The higher rarity, and the more custom options selected, the higher the price the tracker will be asking for. After beginning the track, players’ next encounter will be the tracked one, and if the player doesn’t manage to tame the tracked Vera, the tracker gives them a partial refund.

Be warned, while the tracker’s services are of great value, the amounts of Onyx he requires are steep. He predicts that in the future, players will have more ways of acquiring Onyx, and thus doesn’t compromise on his prices quite yet.

Item Drops from Loot Chests

In addition to Runix, loot chests now reward you with items. Chests can be opened at the blacksmith to earn potions, amulets, materials, and even much-coveted luxury items. The higher rarity the chest, the better the chances for legendary loot!

The Immortal Gauntlet - The Golem and the Wisp

Last but not least, The Immortal Gauntlet has been added to Valhalla as the new Clan Challenge. Similarly as before, clans will be competing to top the clan leaderboard with clan points. However, in order to gain them, each member of the clan, twice a day, will now be able to play the Immortal Gauntlet.

This challenge is a boss battle in which players can bring up to 3 Veras to fight against the immortal golem. The objective of the gauntlet is to maximize the amount of damage dealt and the amount of turns survived, in order to gain the most points before inevitably succumbing to the golem’s power. Playing the Immortal Gauntlet also grants experience points (XP) to the clan wisp, which can level-up.

3 different timeslots during the day are dedicated to Gauntlet Surges that last for an hour at a time. These surges multiply the amount of points gained for their duration, and let clan members increase the multiplier even further by playing the challenge one after another in the same Surge time-slot. Lastly, a daily variation is applied to the gauntlet, increasing points gained for a specific playstyle (Using a specific vera, dealing a specific damage type, etc.).

You can access the Immortal Gauntlet Battles from your clan page under the Activities Tab.
