Hello Vikings!
In today’s patch B is back and his shopfront is more robust than ever. Additionally, Loot Chests have arrived and are here to grant all the most epic Loot. And last but not least, managing your account has become easier with an in-game account balance screen and notifications.
Raise your anchors, call your friends and Clan members to hop onboard, and enjoy the patch!
Floki Tier
We're introducing a very important feature: Flok Tiers. Floki Tiers act as a multiplier to a Viking's earnings through in-game actions. They impact your battle loot, your shopping experience, your banking system, and many more things. Your Floki Tier is determined by a combination of the number of FLOKI staked (on both BSC and ETH) and the staking duration. This patch prepares the foundation for the Floki Tier, so expect more details soon. For now, all players have been set to the same Floki Tier.
Loot Chests
Players with linked accounts will now receive Loot Chests as rewards for playing battles. Each account has an individual daily Loot Reserve. The size of the Loot Reserve is determined by the Floki Tier. Loot Chests will have a chance to be dropped from battles, and their value will be deducted from the Loot Reserve. When a player's Loot Reserve is fully collected, Loot Chests will not drop anymore that day.
There currently are a variety of Chest Types and Rarities to earn, from Vera species Chests to rough, bronze, silver, gold, diamond, and ruby Chests, each holding more loot value and higher chances to get rare items. Higher Floki Tier accounts have increasing chances to receive more valuable Chests. (for now and all accounts default to the same base Floki-tier which allows chances to get every kind of Chest).
Received Chests can be opened at The Blacksmith, where a new tab was added specifically for that purpose. Currently Loot Chests aren't fully implemented yet, and only give out Runix. Expect this to change soon within the coming days!
B’s Shop is Open for Business
B The Shopkeeper has finally returned from his little escape and has opened up shop. You’ll find items you’re used to seeing there as well as items you’ve never seen at the shop before. In addition, he has started setting up his favorite customer list and thus assembled the Shop Reputation System.
From now on, shop trading will earn players shop reputation which will directly translate to discounts and better sell values. So becoming repeat customers will now be a lot more valuable. Trading with the shop consistently will also slightly increase these rates (daily streaks). On the other hand however, there is a decay rate when the shop isn’t used for more than a day, which decreases your progress to the next shop reputation level, but doesn’t lower your already reached reputation level.
Besides that, the amount of Runix the shop has is set individually per account depending on their Floki-tier. Similarly as with the Loot, currently there is a default Floki-tier for all accounts for the time being in test-net. That shop’s Runix is restocked daily together with the item stocks.
Happy trading!
Pause Menu & Settings
A pause menu has been introduced for a better aesthetic and for ease of access to the ‘respawn’ and ‘back to title screen’ buttons that were previously found in the settings menu. The ‘O’ (i.e. the letter "oh") Keybind now opens the pause menu instead, from which you can navigate to the settings which also got upgraded visuals. Furthermore, the miscellaneous settings tab has been removed and the ‘Skip Arena Intro’ setting has been moved to graphics settings. Lastly, the pause menu links to a new page - the Account page.
Account Page & BNB Balance
In preparation for main-net where gas prices should be carefully considered, we’ve added a specific page as well as notifications in the game that let you know when your BNB balance is running low and you need to Top it up in order to continue playing. Yo∂u can find the account page under the pause menu. Inside it you’ll be linked to the right page in the website where you can top-up. On the same note as before, for test-net, continuously topping up won’t be necessary as automatic top-ups are in place.
AI in Vera Encounters
We overcame a pesky issue that made Veras in Encounters continuously just move around in the battle instead of using their abilities. So, hope you’re ready to be hit back again.
Besides some extra bug fixes like the daily quest number inconsistencies, and some inaccurate in-game texts, that's all for today! While we've done our best to catch all the bugs, it's possible that a few might have slipped through. We have faith in our Vikings to help us identify and report any issues they come across. Don't hesitate to communicate with us about any problems or bugs you encounter through our community's Discord: https://discord.gg/NJXccsQSfg
Until next time!
