Hello Vikings!

Today we’re excited welcome you to a broad and extensive patch that contains additions and improvements aplenty. Starting off, we’ve added a graceful main menu to smoothen out the experience of starting up the game. On top of that, we’ve introduced character customization when creating a new character so you can better actualize and tailor your characters to your hearts desire. And last but not least, the Daycare, opening Loot Chests, and the Immortal Gauntlet boss battle have all been improved and adjusted based on your feedback, and bug reports.

As always, thanks for playing and enjoy!

As mentioned, the first interaction you’ll now face when opening the game, after logging in, is of a Main Menu. From the menu you’ll be able to change your account and game settings, start a new journey, or continue with your existing characters.

Character Creation

When creating a new character, you’ll now be able to fully customize your Vikings and create a character that is truly your own. This also lays the ground work for more Viking customization options in the future, so get ready to accessorize.

The Daycare

The daycare interface received a visual upgrade and also new functionality. You can now spend Runix to unlock new Inventory and Daycare Vera slots. So you’ll have room to progress and expand your capacity of Veras that you use on a daily basis.

Loot Chests

The process of opening chests has been expanded upon. First of all, from now on, opening Loot chests costs a tad of Runix (about 10% of the chest’s value). But, worry not, as once it opens, you’ll always be guaranteed to get a lot more value in the form of items compared to the Runix spent. And, in the case non-soulbound chests, you’ll even get back the Runix you spent on it if not more. Second, unlocking a chest and claiming its rewards are now separate transactions. Each chest takes a certain amount of time to unlock. You must first unlock the chest in an available slot, then, when the timer is done, you can open it and claim the rewards that hide within.

As a part of these changes, we’ve greatly increased the minimum value of higher tier chests as well as revised the item drop chances in order to make them flat out more rewarding. Another aspect of this is that certain items that were previously available in the shop are now fully exclusive to chests, so moving forward you can only get them by claiming chest loot or by trading with other players. Each chest now also clearly states what are the odds to get each kind of item that you can get from it.

Last but not least, we’ve rebalanced the Loot Reserve figures such that players in any Floki Tier will receive at least 3 chests a day on average. Of course you can get a bit more or less of them, depending on which chest drops you get that day as each drop depletes your loot reserve accordingly. Thus, we believe that in tandem with daily quests, clan duties, and some PvP grind, this will help ensure that you get plenty rewards for your efforts while on your daily Floki Island grooves.

Immortal Gauntlet Updates

A few changes were introduced to the clan Immortal Gauntlet boss. Firstly, the boss leveled up over all the times he defeated your Veras so it has now reached level 200! Secondly, now, all Veras players take into the boss battle, similarly to PvP, get bumped up to level 50. This is to create an even playing field in which mastery over strategy, planning, and execution rains supreme. And last but not least, a few unforeseen and unintended tricks that allowed clans to get the upper hand when it comes to clan points were patched out, again, in order to ensure better competition. Just to give an example, it was possible to do more than 30 gauntlets a day if a clan kept rotating different players in and out of the clan. Not anymore!

But, props to the clans who cunningly found and reported those edge cases! Well done.

Showcasing Floki Tiers

Since last patch’s introduction to Floki tiers, we went a step further and added indications for when your loot, shop, exp, and etc are getting actively enhanced by a higher Floki Tier. On top of that, from now on, player names will show increasingly epic banners for their Floki Tiers. And, of course, to make the Floki Tiers really come to life, Valhalla now is able to receive real staking data and set players’ Floki tiers accurately to what they staked, in contrast to everyone defaulting to Floki tier 1 like before. So, if you see any Vikings walking around with fancy name banners, know that they’re a real one.

For test-net, everyone’s minimum Floki Tier is still set to 1 (bronze), but on main-net it will be 0 (rough).
